Second Grade RAFT Projects
2nd grade students recently read Woodland Mystery stories in literature circles. Upon completion of the books, students worked cooperatively to make a written RAFT product. "R" stands for role, "A" stands for audience, "F" stands for format and "T" stands for topic. Students were instructed to choose any role that they liked such as a character from the book, news reporter, inventor, talk show host, ect. Next students chose their audience . Some students chose characters from the book, people that watch the news, the author of the book, etc. The format of students' writing could be an interview, editorial, song, summary, etc. The the topic in students' projects was a required summary or retelling of the story. These second graders came up with fabulous ideas. We hope you enjoy watching them as much as we enjoyed making them!
