We provide a variety of electives for exploration of interests, acceleration, and a rich, in-depth study of related subjects. We also offer opportunities for in-depth visual and performing arts studies.
At Powell, you can choose from a diverse elective program taught by Visual Arts, Dramatic Arts, Music, Dance, Technology/Media and AG teachers. You can join the Powell Band or Orchestra, or audition for a dance or performance elective. You may also work with exciting digital video and computing technology and become an expert in our school's morning news show. You can attend cultural arts performances and work with an "Artist-in-Residence". Powell provides opportunity to explore your child's interests and talents.
All students at Powell have the opportunity to take elective classes. Students in K-2 take one elective each quarter and students in our 3-5 classes take two electives each quarter. Elective registration takes place twice a year during Arena Scheduling where students sign-up and select their electives online. Prior to Arena Scheduling parents, teachers and students work together to make sure each student selects electives that best suit him or her.
